Case studies
Women in Prison works with more than 4,600 women every year. Each woman has her own individual circumstances, challenges and strengths. These case studies give an overview of the specific needs of the women we work with and how our support has helped them.
Amy's Story
Amy, 28, has a history of heroin use and related offending since she turned 18. She was referred to the Women’s Support Centre.
Tara's Story
Tara was convicted for assault in the context of DV. She was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and referred to WIP Mental Health TTG Worker.
Sam's Story
Sam was at the end of a 5-year prison sentence and was referred to WIP Northern Advice Worker.
