Women in Prison knows there is a huge amount of support for our campaign on the injustices of women’s imprisonment. This year we want to harness your support and together call for the urgent changes that are needed to drive down the women’s prison population. We will shortly be launching our 2020 campaign which calls for a reduction in the women’s prison population to 2,020 women (or fewer!) by the year 2020. To kick this off we are running a Year of Action, where every month there will be a key activity for our supporters or women affected by the criminal justice system to take action and either help spread the word, grow the movement or lobby and influence policymakers.

Saturday 21st January: WOMEN’S MARCH ON LONDON

Let’s kick things off with a good old ‘take to the streets’ type action! Join us in solidarity with women from all around the globe. We march for equality, dignity, human rights and for the voices of all women to be heard.

We’ll meet in Grosvenor Square from 11.45 - look out for the large Amnesty contingency outside the Italian Embassy and we’ll meet near them.

We are a very welcoming and friendly group so don’t be afraid to come on your own to say hello and we’ll march together!

Contact on the day is Claire (WIP’s Campaign’s Manager): 07982 055306
